The formal characterization of the G-node—security conditions—combines physiological and sociological conditions. Social forces help to actualize the inherent capacities contained as raw potential in our material bodies and environments. Environmental conditions are stabilized cooperatively, providing the safety and security necessary for our further development, and development progresses steadily through habituation, often socially reinforced.
As regards the Project's other phases, perhaps our need for security motivates us to view the world objectively (P) such that we can gain some control over what happens to us. That which is experienced are the basic facts regarding what we can't help but value (V), and we consider what's good for us all (Y) so we can cooperate to get a handle on life's uncertainties. Indeed, the color used for this node—yellow—is the same color used to represent propositional knowledge in the P-node addressing objectivity. Chopping the world up into articulable facts available to everyone just the same guarantees our security by giving us power over our circumstances.
