The practical inquiry into the nature of worldhood will involve the objective of becoming well-informed about the worlds with which we are engaged. This is a huge task for us these days. Humans evolved to engage in small groups and nature, and today, for many of us, this has been reversed. We live in artificial environments that are directly (as in cities) or indirectly (as in everywhere else) connected to vast networks of complex human relations. Travel will help, listening to others, reading, etc. Knowing the landscape can give us peace of mind. A danger here is that knowing a little can be upsetting. Exposing ourselves to other modes of living can be disorienting. Reading will first of all tell us how little we know. Listening to others, we might hear things we'd rather not hear. This danger is what challenges us to increase our capacity for control of consciousness. Courage is necessary, for when worlds haven't been explored, those worlds remain foreign/unknown, and we tend to view the unknown as threatening, and threats can distract us or otherwise make us feel insecure which can undermine the calm peace of our focused attention.
